Board member Cindy Kjellander-Cantu

Many of you know Cindy from her years of dedication to managing the Dryden Community Center Café, or her design work for the History Center of Tompkins County. You may have had the opportunity to work under her as a tutor at TC3. However you’ve connected with Cindy in the past, at the Dryden Center for Community, we’re honored to have Cindy on our Board of Trustees and to recognize her in this month’s Member Spotlight. Cindy brings her considerable graphic design talent and expertise to the project, designing logos, posters, and a variety of publicity formats. She imagined and executed our Steeple Social and Open Doors Day and has supported the Center from its beginning.

Cindy shares her excitement for the Center, “Bringing a place for the community to meet. It’s such a central location, right at the four corners, with thousands of cars going by every day. People want to stop and get out of their cars and enjoy the space. We often don’t realize the hidden beauty in our community, and the Center provides a space to showcase that idea of place. I would like to bring my skills to highlight that for many generations to come. This building is a physical legacy. It has a really great foundation not just for now, but for the future.”

Cindy hails from Texas, but has called Dryden home for 18 years. She lives in the Village of Dryden with her wife and daughter.
